Stella McCartney, the British designer, presented her 2008 autumn and winter “Eco” Collection in Liverpool on June 1st.
She is one of the growing numbers of designers who prefer the ecological approach to fashion abstaining from the use of leather and fur in their collections.
After designing an organic line for Barney’s New York last year, Ms. McCartney decided to extend the availability to London.
This catwalk presentation was held at the Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts was part of program which celebrates Liverpool as the 2008 European “City of Culture”.
The evening fulfilled its promise to be an entertaining event; with sights of beautiful clothing followed by beautiful music at the Anfield Stadium courtesy of Sir Paul McCartney, father of the designer.

The fashion industry is always one step ahead in terms of the seasons, but it’s refreshing to see a designer whose creations let the wearer’s alter ego express itself.
The designs are fluid; built around innovative fabrics, styled with just a hint of mystery and intrigue. The fashions of Julia Jentzsch are modernly romantic with a classic touch that make it oh-so nice to be a woman.
And wearing this type of sensuous look not only gives the ego a nice massage, it transmits the vibe of the power that women possess. The Fall Collection definitely brings to mind the stories of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle: you can almost see that mysterious woman in her belted rain cape talking to Doyle’s character Sherlock Holmes on a foggy London street.

Now that we can shed our sweaters and coats, what better way to celebrate Spring than with the pure indulgence of a beauty ritual? Shaking off the winter blues just got easier: LUSH Fresh Hand Made Cosmetics has whipped up some wicked little treats, my personal favorite is the Sex Bath Bomb.
As the name implies, this is an out of this world experience that could spoil you for life. Whether you use this as a prelude to a romantic Father’s Day or just want a temporary escape into your own private world, the aromatic and aphrodisiac properties of jasmine, clary sage, and ylang ylang is sure to take you one step closer to bliss. Pop it in the bath and you’ll see– this is a real Diva treat.

Autumn will be here before you know it—why not get a leg up on the shoes your footies will love? High on style and enveloping not just the foot but the ankle and calf are some luxurious fashion footwear. Platforms, vivid colors, straps, embroidery and buckles are making waves this fall.
Especially desirable are:
- Bally’s Court Shoe
- John Galliano’s tasseled elevated T-strap (sure to add flair to any tango)
- Bruno Frisoni’s cutout design is delectable
- Narciso Rodriguez adds a bit of bondage (naughty!) with cuffs on his stiletto heels
For the all-out lover of leather boots, check out:
- Proenza Schouler’s buckled taupe suede
- Roger Vivier’s luscious wine suede with fanciful bead work (shown on the right)
- Givenchy goes the distance with a mile high leather lace-up wedge boot.

Looking for a versatile addition for your spring fashion look? Here’s one with extra benefits: corsets have become THE wardrobe essential. So who’s wearing them? Corsets have adorned Beyoncé, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kelly Rowland and Victoria Beckham who are well-known for their beauty and fashion sense.
Women who wear corsets know it’s “the waist that defines the woman.” Corsets trim your waist, plump up your breasts and are made in some delicious fabrics; satin, leather, silk, cotton and
lace — you can be as innocent or naughty as you like. Whatever
your style a corset will make it sizzle.
